Police found a man severely injured near Martin’s Place in Shakashead on Sunday evening. The man had been stabbed and died later that night. A suspect has been arrested.
A woman was assaulted in her home in Shayamoya on Sunday. Her partner allegedly beat her after wanting to “sort out their problems.”
A two-year-old child died after being hit by a car on Shakashead main road on Sunday. The driver took the child to the hospital for treatment but the child died soon after.
On Saturday afternoon a man raped a woman near Tinley Manor after he had robbed her. The suspect was arrested.
An armed man stole groceries from another man as he was walking home near the Tinley Manor railway station on Saturday afternoon.
A woman was raped in Shayamoya after the man had asked her to accompany him home on Saturday afternoon. The suspect was arrested.
On Saturday morning a Hilux bakkie was stolen on Compensation Beach road. The resident saw his car outside at 7am but by 8am it had been stolen. The vehicle did not have a tracker.
A house break-in on Gillian street resulted in R86 000 of goods being stolen early on Friday morning.
Two men robbed a woman as she was walking along the Ballito promenade near Tontiki flats on Friday evening.
A man assaulted a woman at his house in Etete after she accused him of stealing money from her home earlier on Friday. The man was arrested.
R13 000 of copper wire was stolen from Bonitas sugar cane farm on Friday morning.
A man was stabbed at a house party in Nkobongo last Tuesday evening after an argument.
While walking home on Tuesday evening a man was assaulted by another man who accused him of witchcraft. The suspect was arrested.
A nine-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted a number of times by her uncle’s friend between July and August in Shayamoya. The incidents occurred when she visited her uncle’s home. The trial is ongoing.
Umhlali SAPS arrested 13 people for possession of marijuana, two for road traffic violations, 12 for drinking in public, one for selling liquor without a license, one for possession of a dangerous weapon, one for an unlicensed firearm. A total of 53 arrests were made.
