Silverware galore for Umfolozi College
Top students at Umfolozi College are the "lamp of KwaDukuza".
The Umfolozi College, Chief Albert Luthuli campus honoured their top achieving students in a dignitary studded event on Friday.
The awards ceremony was attended by the college’s rector Sam Zungu, member of parliament Thembekile Ngcobo and parents. Ngcobo described the Umfolozi students as the lamp of KwaDukuza which must go out from the collage to brighten the world.
Most of the awardees took home more than one trophy but unfortunately many were not present to receive their awards as they are already working.
“It is unfortunate that some of our hard-working troops are not here today but it is also an achievement to know that our college has produced productive members of the society,” said Zungu.
Student representative council chairperson, Dumisani Gumede congratulated his colleagues on “the fruits of their hard work” and said the awards should serve as motivation to others to work even harder so that they can receive the same recognition next year.
