Jackpot for Aids centre

Casino pours funds generously on Ekukhanyeni Aids Centre.

Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom donated R610 000 to help renovate the Ekukhanyeni Aids Centre in Inanda, Durban.

Sibaya Casino’s Social Investment committee donated the sum which went towards construction of a new shower and bathroom as well as renovating the kitchen in the centre.

The centre is an Aids hospice on the border of Inanda which serves as a step-down facility for Osindisweni Hospital for special needs Aids patients. The facility cares for men, women and children who need end of life care and support.

The hospice holds 20 beds and offers 24-hour care to patients.

Melville Vogel, the regional manager of Sun International, Sibaya and Wildcoast Sun Casino commended the centre’s staff.

“The Sibaya Casino CSI team applauds the good work being done at the Ekukhanyeni Hospice, through our contribution we would like to ensure these patients last days are those of comfort and happy memories,” he said.

The team at the Ekukhanyeni Aids Centre is made up of volunteers, nurses, religious sisters and care givers from the surrounding community.
