Enforcing the law
An Enforce Security guard recounts how he caught two card thieves at the Junction last week.
Enforce Security recognised the sterling work of one of their guards after he caught two credit card thieves at The Junction in Ballito last week.
Client service manager at Enforce, Emanuel Dlamini, presented Senzo Senkosi a certificate of service and an undisclosed amount of money for his brave act in stopping the men on Monday, October 7.
“We commend him for the work he has done, not only did he look after our client but he also helped get rid of these criminals who are terrorising our community,” said Dlamini.
Senkosi, who stands guard outside the FNB branch at The Junction, noticed two suspicious men walk past the FNB on Monday morning.
“I turned towards the bank entrance and when I looked back one of the men had joined the queue to the ATM and the other was at one of the ATMs,” said Senkosi.
The man in the line was looking around suspiciously and Senkosi could not see his accomplice.
“I calmly walked away from the ATM and looked at the reflection on the window at the other side of the passage,” he said.
Using the reflection he saw one of the men grab a bank card from somone drawing money at the ATM. Senkosi then ran over and grabbed the thief.
The other man ran away into the car park and was stopped by a shopper. Senkosi then took the men into the bank where they were handcuffed. Police arrived shortly afterwards and the men were taken to Umhlali police station.
