Happy hands make a happy world

Raelene Stefano loves to see children covered in glue, glitter and felt.
The bubbly Ballito resident left the corporate world a few years ago to start her own business, which involves her teaching arts and crafts and creating all sorts of handmade goodies.
“Everything is better when it is handmade. You are never too old to get your hands sticky with glue and make something special.”
She also teaches beginner sewing classes for younger children and sews girls’ dresses, handbags and gorgeous cushions.
One of the cushions is fashioned like a postcard and has a space for a message, making an intimate gift for a loved one far away.
One of Crafty Kidz’ specialities is craft and sewing kits, allowing children to make their own personalised t-shirts, handbags and superhero capes.
Stefano spends hours in her home studio putting together the cute boxes.
“I love the satisfaction of seeing the finished craft, knowing my hands made it. Every girl should know how to sew on a button and it is wonderful to see little children have fun with arts and crafts.”

Christmas Country Fair

Crafty Kidz will have a stall at the The Christmas Country Fair, taking place on November 6 and 7 from 9am to 5pm at Collisheen Estate. Tickets, which include a delicious tea, will be on sale at the entrance for R40 per person.  Free entrance for children under 13 years.
