Bobbertlitious a whopping success
Vision 153's annual fundraiser was a roaring success.
Vision 153 held its annual fundraiser, this time in the form of ‘Bobbertlitious’, last Friday at the Collisheen Estate.
The evening, which raised funds to allow the NPO to continue its work with the poor, had a lively and friendly atmosphere and was very well attended. Guests enjoyed a three course meal and were treated to live entertainment by Durban theatre personality and queen of comedy, Lisa Bobbert.
“It was definitely a success, much more than we could have hoped for or expected,” said a thrilled Lesley Forrest, one of Vision 153’s organisers.
Speaking at the event, director Linda Primmer expressed her thanks for the support and re-affirmed the organisation’s determination to change lives.
The NPO’s current projects include feeding breakfast to orphans and vulnerable children from Monday to Friday in Groutville, also arranging educational workshops and regular excursions for the children.
The organisation has a feeding station at a crèche in Etete, also providing clothing, bedding, medicine, toys and sandwiches every week to the centre. Their project in Shakashead involves working with a local church to provide the same necessities to widows and children. Two more projects that bring help to orphans and abandoned children in Verulam and Windmill Park in Johannesburg are also currently being run by the NPO.
