A Delish affair

House is now open to the public!

Piles of delicious chunky double chocolate fudge brownies, giant strawberries, bubbling champagne and much more, welcomed the media guests at the House launch last week. The Delish Sisters, Rebecca and Kate Lund, who are famous for their scrumptious lamb naan wraps and chocolate brownies at almost every market in and around Durban have turned their dream into a reality in just under a year. The sisters only just started their food stall and catering company in December last year and know they are running the kitchen at the Ballito House boutique hotel. “I do not think many people can say they have had a career trajectory quite like ours. It has all happened so quick. We are so very grateful and blessed to have been given this opportunity,” said Kate Lund. The media were invited to the official launch of the new restaurant and deli called House for a taste of what we can expect. Penelope Kirkland from Red Cap radio had set up shop in the House deli to do a live morning broadcast while the chefs cooked up a storm in the kitchen. The ladies will be serving breakfasts and a harvest table style lunch where guests can dish up as they like and pay by weight, as well as occasional dinners with a set menu or theme. North Coast coffee snobs will be happy to know that Colombo coffee is being served and sold at House – for the coffee drinkers who are not in the know lets just say its one of the best damn coffee brands in Durban. The House Deli is stocked with lovely home made goodies by the Delish Sisters from biscotti to jam. House is officially open to the public so pop in for a visit – Ballito House boutique hotel on Eland street in Ballito near Willards Beach.
