From the heart fundraiser for cancer
Ballito resident has been diagnosed with advanced stage four cancer.
Janine Siedle (40) has beaten breast cancer twice.
The Ballito resident has now been diagnosed with advanced stage four cancer of the bones, lungs and liver, which doctors say is incurable.
“I beat it twice and I can do it again, but I am also a realist. I have to be practical about my situation.”
Janine has already made arrangements for her children Jessie (16) and Kyle (10) to be cared for by her twin brother Rick, who lives in Britain.
“My children have seen me survive this illness before so we are trying to make peace with whatever the future holds.”
Janine has no medical aid and works as an estate agent for HomeZone Real Estate, purely commissions-based.
She has thanked her friends, family and the community for standing by her.
A fundraiser – From the Heart – will be held at Gianni’s on August 14 at 7pm, proceeds of which will go towards Janine’s medical bills and her children’s relocation.
During the event various items will be auctioned off and there will also be lucky draws. Prizes include rugby tickets, game drives, a Michelin Star executive chef dinner for six and a week away in Chaka’s Cove.
Tickets are available from Gianni’s at a cost of R150 each, which includes a welcome drink, focaccia and a choice of three main meals.
Tickets are limited to 140 people, but Gianni’s owner John Coburn said donations are welcome, even if you do not attend.
“Ballito Rotary is fully behind the event,” he said.
For more information contact Gianni’s on 032-946 3217.
