Five things to do in Ballito this weekend

There is something for everyone!

1. Music in The Orchard in association with Pierre de Charmoy and Foothills Wine is tonight at the Litchi Orchard.

Join them for an evening of delicious food and drink. Be entertained by a local performer, Pierre De Charmoy. Gates open at 6pm giving you and your friends time to enjoy a Foothills Wine tasting, grab a bite to eat and find a spot to enjoy the performance at 8pm. No picnic baskets or alcohol permitted. 2. Tonight you can catch Danny Fisher at the Pumpkin Theatre for one of the four final shows of this insanely popular show.

Come and watch Fisher as he takes you through his musical career, through real-life stories he gives extraordinary insight into his life as a one of a kind entertainer.

Listen to his uncanny impersonations of greats like Rod Stewart, Johnny Cash, Kenny Rogers, Meatloaf, Nat King Cole and of course Elvis Presley.

On Friday night, doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm.

The cost is R60 for the show only, and R140 for the show and meal.

3. Visit Imbizo Gallery’s ‘No Tomorrow’ exhibition on display until September 30.

Isabel Roos, gallery curator and owner, has brought together five artists: sculptors Marke Meyer, Izidro Duarte, Michael Canadas and Leoni Needham, and the ‘painter among the thorns’, Terri Broll.

4. Burndale turns two! So they are having a party to celebrate. Pop in at 2pm on Saturday. There will be live music, fashion shows and birthday cake.

5. A local pupil and aspiring model will host an evening of fashion, designer wear and dinner as a fundraiser on Saturday night.

Ashton International College’s Storm Mirtle will host the Simply Beautiful Fashion Show with Karen Landman on August 16, at The Boathouse in Ballito.

“The models will be wearing jewellery by renowned South African designer Jenni Gault,” said Mirtle.
