Truck overturned at Tugela bridge

Fourth accident today.

A truck carrying cardboard boxes overturned on the N2 near the Tugela bridge shortly after 10am this morning obstructing the north bound lane.

Rescue services are at the scene.

IPSS paramedic Paul Herbst said the driver was lucky to escape with minor injuries.

He urged the public to slow down when driving in wet conditions.

“Drivers really need to be more careful on the wet roads,” he said.

This is the fourth accident on North Coast roads this morning. Earlier this morning a mother and baby were taken to hospital after an accident on the N2 Ballito. Six people were injured when a taxi’s brakes failed on the Salt Rock Main Road and there was an accident involving a motorbike near Zimbali on the M4.
