Woman smashes BMW through Ballito Engen

How in the world...

Staff and customers of the Ballito Engen and Convenience Store are still scratching their heads, wondering how a woman crashed her BMW into the store.

At around 2pm, the woman was apparently waiting for a parking outside the QuickShop.

She drove into the parking without incident but seconds later, the nose of the car had smashed through the thick glass doors and stopped precariously near the front display.

Owner Rajesh Ramperthad said they are still not quite sure what happened.

“Perhaps she pressed her accelerator instead of the brake pedal, but we do not know. We are still reviewing camera footage from the front of the store.”

The woman was apparently examined by Netcare911 paramedics and taken to Alberlito Hospital.
