Massive waves at Salt Rock!

Waves of at least five metres.

The Dolphin Coast has experienced waves of five metres and possibly higher this week.

Salt Rock kite surfer Richard Noyce sent us these impressive photos of himself on the water on Wednesday.

“When kitesurfing in these conditions you need to trust your equipment and make sure you do not make any mistakes. The upside is that you really get to feel the power of the ocean up close and personal, especially when you look back and see what looks like a two story building closing down behind you!” said Noyce.

More big surf is predicted for this weekend. However Noyce said the wind will not be blowing in the right direction for him at Salt Rock this Saturday.

Look out for more photos in next week’s paper.
