Oaklands Equestrian Estate hosts a training show
Novice riders are given the opportunity to prepare for formal show jumping.
Horses and riders were turned out in their best for the Oaklands Equestrian Estate training show outside Umhlali on August 23.
Jessica Dench said they had perfect weather with supporters coming from neighboring riding yards. A training show gives novices the opportunity to prepare for formal show jumping. The course was designed by Kiks Mattioda with the purpose of building confidence in both horse and rider.
“It started off with pole on the ground for the beginners and their horses and went up to 90cm class with a one metre jump off which was won by Leanne Channings and Cody,” said Dench.
Children and adults alike enjoyed the three-legged race at the half way point.
“We look forward to doing it again next year,” said Dench.
