Weekend Crime Report
A Shayamoya resident woke up to find two men inside his house, they kicked her door down and one of them stabbed her in her thigh with a screwdriver. Items valued at R2300 were taken.
Umhlali SAPS attended the following crimes this weekend:
· A Toyota Hilux registration number NT 16790 was stolen while the owner went into a shop in Umhlali on Friday. When he came out of the shop he saw his car driving towards Shakakraal.
· Two men came into a house on Patricia Drive on Friday and asked the domestic worker to open the gate; they claimed to want to read the water meter. The men then tried to force her to show them where the safe was hidden. A 38 firearm and items valued at R50 000 was taken.
· On Saturday a Ballito resident discovered the window pane of his house has been broken and copper pipes and mixer valued R5000 were stolen.
· An Nkobongo resident woke up to find three intruders inside his house on Sunday night. He was stabbed in the chest and right arm and his cell phone was taken.
· A Shayamoya resident woke up to find two men inside his house, they kicked her door down and one of them stabbed her in her thigh with a screwdriver. Items valued at R2300 were taken.
Umhlali SAPS urged residents and holiday makers not to leave valuable items in their cars when they are at the beach.
