Ashton targets rhino poaching
Pupils raised a massive R7000 in support of the Kingsley Holgate Foundation.
Ashton Junior College students lived up to their school’s motto, “Excellence Belongs to the Zealous” when they raised a massive R7000 for the Rhino Fund, driven by Kingsley Holgate.
Last year Ashton Junior College raised funds by challenging other independent schools to distribute rhino art and attach R10 to each artwork.
That was not enough for the industrious youngsters who have taken the challenge a few steps further.
The grade seven students generously donated 10 percent of their profits from the Moonlight Market to the fund while the grade fours and fives held a cake and candy sale in aid of the endangered animals.
Grant Fowlds, who is assisting the Kingsley Holgate Foundation with their fight against rhino poaching received the money from the Ashton Junior College students.
