Four people were injured after a heavy goods vehicle ploughed through nine vehicles on the M4 near La Mercy.
Both directions of the M4 have been obstructed.
Netcare 911 and other ambulance services treated the injured on scene and transported them to hospital.
The traffic is still severely affected as the recovery process of all the vehicles will take some time.
