Service delivery protest action has resumed on the R74 in Madundube.

The road is closed between Dorinkop and Maphumulo. Police are warning the public to avoid the area.

Last week three residents were arrested for public violence, after over a thousand residents closed down the R74 with burning tyres and stones demanding houses on Sunday and Monday.Three trucks, at least one carrying timber, were set alight and police were stoned by the mob last Sunday, September 21.

On Sunday KwaDukuza municipality mayor Ricardo Mthembu had announced that the building of government housing could only begin in March 2015.

The community are demanding that it begin immediately.
