Eight things to do in Ballito this weekend

There is plenty to do in Ballito and the surrounding Dolphin Coast.

1. The monthly Ballito Lifestyle Centre Foodies Market takes place this Saturday outside Zara’s coffee shop from 8 am to 12 pm. Shop to your heart’s desire for find all the best organic, fresh and artisinal local produce Ballito has to offer.

2. The Litchi Orchid plays host to the 10th anniversary of the food and wine festival with Pinotage on Tap. Great wine, authentic Durban curries and exciting surprises await guests on Saturday form 12.30 pm to 7 pm.

3. If interior decorating is more your thing, you can visit the Home Maker’s Expo this weekend from Friday to Sunday at the Durban Exhibition Centre. Entrance for adults is R50, pensioners R25 and children under 12 get in for free.

4. Forest Hills German Shepherd Club Ballito holds puppy and dog training at Townsend Park every Saturday morning. Obedience and protection training is done by professional dog handler and instructor, Anthony Du Plessis and all breeds are welcome.

5. Hirsch Ballito are having their ‘Rock ‘n Surf’ ninth birthday bash on Saturday and Sunday with specials, cooking demonstrations and lucky draw prizes.

6. If exercise is your thing the past week’s rainfall has given the ground a good soaking and mountain bikers should have muddy good fun on the single track at Holla Trails and Sugar Rush.

7.The North Coast is home to some of the most scenic golf courses in the country, ideal for those who enjoy chasing the little white ball along the fairways and greens. Call one of the local golf courses and book a round while there’s still space.
