American evangelist Todd Bentley will return to the KZN Celebration Centre in Tongaat in November.
Bentley’s visit in April last year attracted thousands, all of whom were eager to witness the controversial revivalist perform “healing mircales” (Thousands flock to ‘revival, Courier, April 19, 2013).
Dozens of people were apparently healed of terminal diseases including strokes and kidney failure. Hundreds of Muslims and Hindus were also said to have converted to Christianity.
Canadian Bentley, a reformed alcoholic and drug addict, leads the Fresh Fire Ministries team. He is famous for being the main figure in the ‘Lakeland Revival’ in Florida during 2008 – he was originally invited to Lakeland for only five days but when healing began to take place he remained there for over six months.
The ‘Revival Ignited Africa’ meetings will take place at the church, 33 High Street, Tongaat (next to Victoria Hospital) from November 14 to 22.
