Fashion ‘must have’- leopard print nails

Grrr, sexy nails!

I am as girly as they come – everything pink, glossy and sparkly.

One of my many beauty regimes that I take as seriously as my shoe obsession, is my monthly manicures.

Trust me, there is nothing that compares with the feeling of blowing a kiss with 10 freshly painted, gleaming nails.

This month, I chose to go with a trend that looks as though it will never die in the world of fashion: leopard print.

You can choose to have a sticker (or decal) printed and stuck on, but I chose to have my art hand-drawn at Scarla May Nail & Body Bar at the Lifestyle Centre.

Here is the skinny on getting that sexy, animal print on your nails:

• I chose a nude colour as my base, but you can go wild! Anything from pastel shades, to a stark white, would work. Just check with your nail technician as to which combinations would look best.

• Once the gel polish had been cured, my nail technician recommended a juicy purple shade for my leopard print. Using an orange stick (similar to a toothpick) and a small blob of polish, she hand-drew little purple spots onto my nail.

• I chose to have my design printed only down the side of my second last nail (ring finger) but it is up to you just how wild you want to get. You can cover your entire nail, or go completely crazy and have all 10 done in print.

• The last step was to outline the purple spots with a rim of black, and voila!

• A layer of clear polish is then applied as a top coat to finish off the look.

P.S – The days of co-ordinating your outfit to your mani are long gone.Once you have your leopard-print nails, feel free to rock them any way you want!
