Pink pilates for cancer
In support of the Kids 4 Life Initiative by Pink Phoenix Cancer Foundation.
Ballito’s Tash B Pilates Studio raised R5000 to benefit the Kids 4 Life Initiative by Pink Phoenix Cancer Foundation.
Owner Tash Barnard, hosted the second annual cancer awareness and fundraiser at Canelands Beach Club and Spa in Salt Rock on Wednesday, October 8.
The setting was breathtaking and while Barnard led the pilates class with energetic enthusiasm, the waves rolled gently onto the beach and the dolphins cruised by.
Sarah FitzGerald, who has been fighting breast cancer for seven years, shared her story with the women after the class, who formed a prayer circle for her, praising her bravery and praying for her healing.
Michelle Luyt and Jayne Law, both ambassadors for Pink Phoenix Cancer Foundation, participated in the class and Sharon van Straaten hosted a talk on ‘Mind and Body Wellness’, focusing on the four key elements to cancer survival, being: early detection, nutrition, attitude and treatment.
The most touching and heartfelt moment was the release of the pink balloons in memory of all loved one’s who have lost their lives to cancer or in support of all those presently fighting the disease.
