In last night’s heavy rain a TBL  tractor rolled down an embankment on a sugarcane farm in the upper Tongaat area.

The accident was only discovered this morning and the driver was declared dead on scene.

IPSS Medical Rescue,  SAPS Search and Rescue, KwaDukuza fire and emergency services and Rescue Unit South Africa assisted with the extraction of the body from the wreckage.

Earlier yesterday a motorcycle accident on the R102 near Hambanathi, Tongaat left a sixty-year-old man seriously injured.

The injured man was transported to hospital by Netcare 911 for further medical care.
