
Umhlali SAPS attended the following crimes last weekend:
· A man died on a farm in upper Tongaat after a crane that he was driving capsized, the body was taken to Stanger mortuary.
· On Saturday a Ballito woman was held up at knife point while jogging on Sable Road. A silver Opel Corsa pulled up next to her, two men jumped out and stole her jewellery valued at R22000.
· Two workers of a nightclub in Shakaskraal were held up at knife point on Saturday. The robbers stole cash from the safe.
· An Nkobongo resident woke up to discover that his three tyres with rims and two rims were missing from his yard on Saturday. The tyres and rims were later found in a scrap yard in Shakaskraal.
· A case of statuary rape was opened against 37-years-old man in Ashford Farm for sleeping with a 14-year-old girl. The girl claims the man is her boyfriend.
· A man was arrested after he broke into a house in Umhlali, the owner heard a sound on the other side of her house and when she went to check he found the window of her house broken.
Due to renovations they are temporarily relocating the charge office and as a result only one phone line will be working until further notice. Colonel Dieter Fittkaue urged residents to be patient and call back if the line is busy.
