Two killed, 14 injured in accident outside Darnall

Passengers claim the taxi failed to stop at the stop street.

A taxi and a Golf collided on the R102 at about 7pm last night, killing two people and injuring 14, between Darnall and Princess Grant.

The taxi was allegedly turning into the R102 from Stuart’s Farm Road, when it was T-boned by the Golf.

IPSS Medical Rescue paramedic Paul Herbst said the taxi’s passengers claimed the taxi had failed to stop at the stop street.

“Both male occupants of the Golf were declared dead upon our arrival. The taxi passengers sustained moderate injuries and were taken to hospital by IPSS and other ambulance services,” he said.
