Four injured in Shakaskraal accident last night

Jaws of life used to free injured from the wreckage.

A vehicle allegedly lost control in Shakaskraal last night, crashing into the side of another car carrying a family of three.

The first vehicle rolled, critically injuring the driver.

The KwaDukuza fire department freed the entrapped man within the wreckage using the Jaws of Life.

The family in the other vehicle, including a baby, were lucky to escape with minor injuries.

Netcare 911 and IPSS Medical Rescue attended the injured.

“The fire department did a fantastic job with the extrication,” said IPSS Medical Rescue paramedic Paul Herbst.

“We transported the critically injured patient with our advanced life support paramedic onboard,” he said.
