Umhlali SAPS attended the following crimes on the weekend.
· On Friday night a man was stabbed in the head in Nkobongo.
· A man was attacked with a bush knife in Tete on Friday night.
· A Ballito resident woke up on Saturday morning to find the rear door and security gate smashed and entry gained, items valued at R38600 were stolen.
· In Salt Rock on Lagoon Drive a resident woke up to find a window of his house forced open and entry gained. Items valued at R16 000 were stolen.
· A Shakaskraal resident had sail and cement valued at R4000 stolen from his premises.
· On Sunday a woman was arrested after she allegedly assaulted the wife of her child’s father with a stone on her forehead in Tete.
Due to renovations Umhlali SAPS is temporarily relocating the charge office and as a result only one phone line is working. The police urged residents and holidaymakers not to leave valuable items in their cars when they are going to the beach. They are also appealing to the business sectors to do what they can to increase security as the festive season is around the corner.
