Load shedding has been implemented over large parts of the country.
The lights went out across the greater Ballito area just before 3pm this afternoon due to load shedding.
KwaDukuza technical services electrical engineer, Nick Hall confirmed that Eskom is in an emergency situation and are unable to keep up with the nation’s power demand and power will be off for at least two hours until 16:30.
Eskom has scheduled load shedding nationally until 8pm and instructed municipalities to stick to their schedules to help shed 2000MW of the national load.
Eskom spokesperson Andrew Etzinger said at 3pm today that they have moved to stage two load shedding.
