Weekend crime report

Umhlali police was busy last weekend attending to these crimes.

Umhlali SAPS attended the following crimes last weekend.

· Three men are suspected to have stolen a 4×6 meter treated timber in Shakaskraal on Friday night. They were seen by a resident running on 24-school road towards Nkobongo.

· A man was arrested after he was found with household items loaded in a suitcase and failed to answer when questioned about why he had it in his possession.

· In Tete a man was arrested for being in possession of counterfeit cigarettes and he was selling it to residents.

· A Shakashead resident sustained open wounds on his head and hands after he was assaulted by a group of men, accusing him of killing their brother.

Due to renovations Umhlali SAPS are temporarily relocating the charge office and as a result one phone line will be working for one week. The police urged residents and holidaymakers not to leave valuable items in their cars when they are going out the beach.
