Ballito traffic nightmare

Traffic woes continue.

Ballito Drive’s traffic woes continue with traffic once again backing up from the N2 intersection outside peak hours.

Moffat Road has been closed at the Virgin Active for resurfacing, taking the only alternative road around the Ballito CBD out of play.

“Roadworks are going to schedule and by 12 December, two lanes on either side will be open and functioning and pointsmen will be on duty,” said Ballito Councillor Colin Marsh.

However, in what seems to be a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing, pointsmen are apparently not coordinated and traffic is not flowing.

Cllr Colin Marsh said on Tuesday: “Traffic is going nowhere because the pointsmen are not talking to each other.”

Ballito and Salt Rock councillors Colin Marsh and Malcolm Hubner have requested another meeting with KwaDukuza (KDM) mayor Ricardo Mthembu, KDM infrastructure and technical portfolio chairperson cllr Sandeep Oudhram and Dolphin Coast Residents and Ratepayers’ Association to find a way to make traffic flow.
