Driver assaulted in Salt Rock

A man in his twenties was assaulted this afternoon after he was involved in a collision with another vehicle in Ocean Drive, outside Salt Rock caravan park.

Quentin Power from the Specialised Rescue Unit said there was a rear end collision between a Toyota Corolla and Mazda bakkie.

“The drivers ended up in an altercation and one of the drivers was assaulted. The driver sustained injuries to his face, abdomen and legs due to the assault,” said Power.

He said witnesses on the scene said the driver of the Toyota Corolla was assaulted by the driver of the Mazda bakkie.

“The patient was stabilised on scene and transported to Stanger hospital,” said Power.

Police are investigating the incident.
