A Ballito resident was outraged at discovering her car vandalised outside the family home on Monday night. She suspects the vandals might be Matric Ragers.
Quanta Mayer and her family had left their Nissan Navara double cab outside their home on Compensation Beach Road as usual. At around 9.30pm, the family heard a horrible noise outside and when they went to check what it was, they saw their car had been vandalized.
“The canopy windows were smashed and there were perfect, round dents on the door panels,” recounted Mayer.
On closer inspection, the family found marbles scattered around the car and inside it.
“I think a pellet gun must have been used to shoot the marbles into the vehicle,” said Mayer, who expressed disbelief that people could do this.
Fortunately the car is insured, as all the panels on the side of the vehicle have to be replaced, as well as the canopy windows.
“I am happy for matrics to have fun, but this is unacceptable,” said Mayer, whose own son is also in matric.
