IPSS Medical Rescue and KZN Emergency Medical Services and several private ambulance services have responded to a serious accident on the KZN North Coast, where a minibus overturned and crashed down a small embankment near Gwala’s farm in the Tongaat area.
One person died and seven sustained injuries, ranging from critical to minor.
The Department of Health’s air ambulance was flown to the scene and one of the passengers was airlifted to hospital.
The remaining six patients were transported to local hospitals on the North Coast including Osindisweni hospital.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated by the police.
Meanwhile a woman died on the N2 north near Umhlali after a vehicle overturned.
Netcare 911 paramedics and IPSS Medical Rescue arrived at the scene and found a motor vehicle had left the roadway and overturned.
