“Prostitution getting out of hand”
Stanger ladies of the night causing much concern for residents.
When you come into KwaDukuza, at the robot intersection of the R74 and R102, you might have noticed a group of ladies wearing short skirts standing under or next to the bridge on the R74.
These are apparently prostitutes, and numerous residents, who did not wish to be named for fear of reprisal, confirmed the women are entertaining their clients at the side of the road.
“It is disgusting. One day I saw a white Golf parked in the middle of the intersection and I could visibly see her on top of him getting frisky,” said a Stanger resident.
There is much concern that the presence of these ‘ladies of the night’ is degrading the image of the town.
“I wonder what the police are doing about them because they are in every corner of the town,” said another resident.
KwaDukuza SAPS station commander Colonel Bheki Zondi said they know about the issue and they regularly arrest the prostitutes.
“The problem with prostitutes is that when they get arrested they are asked to pay a fine. After that they will go back to the street,” said Zondi.
Other residents suggested that the prostitutes should get accommodation to do their business instead of conducting it on the streets.
“There should be a building or house of pleasure for those who want their services,” said the woman.
