“Toosi’s story touched me and I wanted to thank him,” said Tinley Manor’s Goldzone Jewelry owner, Chix Bhoodu.
Many positive responses have been received about the Tinley Manor hero, Toolsi Sewsumker, who has saved lives with his fishing rod.
After reading the latest article about Sewsumker in the Courier on December 5, Bhoodu, who was a lifeguard many years ago, contacted the Courier and said he would like to give him an engraved watch as a thank you.
The meeting was set up on December 15 at Tinley Manor beach. Unfortunately Chix could not be there, so his son, Raama Bhoodu, handed over the gift of appreciation.
It was a lovely moment, as Sewsumker had had no idea what the meeting was for and when he saw the watch, he was at a loss for words.
