Residents in Chaka’s Rock reported seeing a turtle washed up on the rocks at High Rock, close to Chaka’s Rock beach early this morning.
Quentin Power from Specialised Rescue Unit responded, but unfortunately the animal had died.
They called in KZN Wildlife to remove the animal.
It was then taken to the Oceanographic Research Institute (ORI) at uShaka Marine World for further inspection as to what may have been the cause of death.
