Fights between those involved in a motor vehicle accident broke out on the scene in Stanger on Saturday evening.
Two vehicles were involved in the accident on a farm road near the Gledhow sugar mill.
Two people were transported to hospital by IPSS Medical Rescue and other services, one person was in a critical condition and another had minor injuries.
Paul Herbst from IPSS Medical Rescue said they responded to the accident and found a man walking about one kilometer away.
“Paramedics treated the man for minor injuries and he was taken back to where the collision took place,” said Herbst.
“Family members became very hostile towards the man because he left the accident and fights broke out between the parties. Police suggested the man remain in the IPSS medical rescue vehicle to avoid any further confrontation.”
