Search continues for drowning victim

The man that drowned at Salmon Bay yesterday has not yet been found.

The search for a man that drowned yesterday afternoon at Salmon Bay resumed at first light this morning.

KwaDukuza life guards, IPSS Medical Rescue, Police Search and Rescue and Specialised Rescue Unit have been searching for the body of a male but has not found anything yet.

The conditions are quite rough and microlights are in the air assisting the search and rescue mission.

The man was swimming with a young boy yesterday around 4pm at Salmon Bay when they got into difficulty in the rough seas.

Members of the public rushed to help but could only save the boy.

Salmon Bay is not a designated swimming beach and emergency services urged the public to only swim where there are always life guards on duty.
