Massive petrol price drop

Consumers will be very relieved about the drop in the fuel price.

Whatever you do, wait till after midnight tonight to fill up your car’s fuel tank!

Consumers will be very grateful for a drop in the fuel price by more than one Rand tomorrow.

The Central Energy Fund announced last week that the price for 95 octane will drop R1.23 a litre and the 93 petrol price by R1.27 a litre on Wednesday.

The price of diesel will decrease by R1.04 and R1.05 a litre and paraffin will drop by R1.44.

This drop was caused by the record five-year low in the crude oil price per barrel that dived to below $55.

The weakening of the Rand against the Dollar did however push up the fuel levy price, but was offset by the drop in international oil prices.
