Illegal access to the freeway highly dangerous

With roadworks in Ballito Drive, motorists opted for an alternative route.

When driving on Moffatt Drive in Ballito or driving on the N2 to Durban, you may have seen cars joining the freeway from a small dirt road in the Ballito business park.

Apart from being against the law, this practice is highly dangerous and is likely to cause an accident.

This illegal access to the highway began when the upgrade of the P445 started in Ballito early last year.

At that time taxis used the dirt ‘road’ to avoid the traffic congestion and now many more drivers are using this road to join or exit the freeway.

The KDM traffic department was asked for comment but at the time of going to print there had been no reply.
