Five woman were declared dead at the scene of an accident today at the P110/Fort Pearson intersection, north of Darnall, said paramedics.

IPSS Medical Rescue paramedic Paul Herbst said two vehicles, a Toyota Corola and an Isuzu bakkie, collided.

“The driver of the bakkie was in a critical condition and he was taken to hospital for further treatment,” he said.

The bakkie was reportedly an Ilembe district municipality branded vehicle.
