Water interruptions for Zinkwazi

Water tankers to supplement water supply.

Water in the Zinkwazi reservoirs is extremely low resulting in daily water interruptions.

“In the Zinkwazi area there is a low yield from the boreholes owing to the drought that the iLembe District is currently experiencing,” said Ilembe district municipality spokesperson, Zee Nqala.

She said the low yield due to the drought has resulted in the reservoirs running very low.

“To ensure that all the residents in the area do receive water there will be water supply interruptions from the January 14 at 10.30 am to 4 pm and 9.30p m to 4 am,” said Nqala.

She said this will happen daily until the reservoirs levels normalize.

Nqala said every effort is being made to supplement external supply through water tankers.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we would like to express our appreciation for understanding the situation we are faced with,” said Nqala.
