Facing your fears

Miss Dolphin Coast 2014 faces her fear of reptiles with a daring photo shoot.

Everyone fears something in this world, and for Miss Dolphin Coast 2014, it is a fear of reptiles.

Ballito’s beautiful Chanique Stalley was crowned Miss Dolphin Coast last year in December.

“When I was crowned as the winner, I decided to use the opportunity and platform to make a difference in the businesses along the Dolphin Coast,” said Stalley.

“I want to prove to people that we are capable of anything as long as we believe in ourselves,” she said, and for that she decided to face her fears.

“I started a journey to get involved with the Crocodile Creek, as reptiles are one of my biggest fears. They were kind enough to allow me the opportunity to do a photo shoot using their facilities.”

Stalley supported a local shop owner from Durban who sponsored her wardrobe and Hillcrest photographer Dylan Seppings.

“The photo shoot turned out to be quite an eventful day.

“I found myself in the pit with a full grown alligator named Billy, I had a python around my neck and I held a few new born crocs!

Stalley also got into a pond filled with about 150 baby crocs.

“One even tried to nip my leg!” she said.
