An educational walk in Umdloti

Umdloti Forest Walk offering a unique experience for residents.

Put on your hats, rub on the sun cream and dust off your walking shoes for the Umdloti Forest Walk this Saturday morning from 8.30 for 9am.

The walk is aimed at assessing the existing state of the Umdloti Forest with the assistance of Dr Sershan and UKZN students.

The UKZN students will be showing the community what they are going to be doing in the forest for the next year in order to protect the forest with their 12 month study to assess and confirm data regarding existing fauna.

The long term aim of the UIP and Umdloti Conservancy is to preserve and protect the existing green corridor between the Umhlanga and Umdloti lagoons and this walk will help raise awareness of its importance.

The walkers will meet at the point commercial parking on South Beach Road (opposite Java) and a shuttle will be provided to take the participants to the start of the walk.

Remember to pack snacks and water to keep hydrated and strong.
