Pizza aplenty for a cause
Help send the Shakashead Martial Art team to South Korea by eating some delicious pizza!
Tuck into some delicious pizza and help send the Shakashead Martial Art team to Southern Korea on June 6 for the World Hapkido Martial Arts Federation Championships.
Nicky and Eben Senekal will be hosting a family pizza evening at La Piazza on Tuesday, April 28 at a cost of R200 a ticket. The ticket will get you a pizza buffet plus entertainment in the form of a karate demonstration by the sensei of the team Lucky Ndlovu.
“We are organising this fundraiser because we want to help Ndlovu to get the whole team to the championships. He is a wonderful trainer and so good with kids,” said Nicky, whose own children are trained by Ndlovu.
Some of the team members have also been selected to compete in the World GTF Taekwando Championship in Canada in July. They too do not have the money for the trip.
“I hope people will come in numbers to support this event so that we can get at least 15 members of our team to the championships,” said Ndlovu.
Last year November, the team received a trophy for winning the second most gold medals at the 2014 KZN Open Taekwando Championships, held at the Tongaat Sport Centre.
Ndlovu, Nicky and Eben thanked La Piazza owner Marco Bortolussi for allowing them to use his restaurant to host the event.
Tickets should be bought before the event. Contact Nicky on 083 522 2532.
