World Kidney Day at Alberlito
Hospital provided kidney screening to over 70 community members.

On March 12, Netcare Alberlito Hospital took action locally to celebrate World Kidney Day.
This initiative is a global phenomenon to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.
“Kidney disease is a world-wide problem. The associated risk factors too are widespread and if left untreated may result in impairment or failure of the kidney function.
Protecting your kidneys by controlling your diabetes, hypertension, obesity, cholesterol, medication and other risk factors will help minimise kidney damage.
Attending screening/wellness events adds value to your life through education and awareness and helps make positive lifestyle changes to increase quality of life,” said NRC KZN Healthy Start practitioner, Wineshen Ramaloo.
The Netcare Alberlito Hospital provided cholesterol, pressure, sugar and renal screening to the 70 community members who made use of the opportunity.
Netcare Alberlito Hospital extended their gratitude to Ampath, Lancet, National Renal Care and Healthy Start for making the day possible.
