Weekend crime report

Robberies and assault cases reported.

Umhlali SAPS attended the following crimes last weekend:

* On Friday morning a businessman found his shop in Lemon Reef Park, Ballito had been broken into and items valued at R9700 were stolen.

* A Silver Honda CRV registration number 52339 was stolen on Friday. It was parked in Hewitt Road Salt Rock.

* In Shaka’s Head a house was broken into on Saturday and a water tank was stolen.

* On Sunday a man was assaulted with a cane knife in Esenembe Nohari Farm. He sustained open wounds to his head and right hand.

* A child was allegedly kidnapped in Velani Township on Sunday while she was sleeping at her home.

Umhlali SAPS urge residents and holidaymakers not to leave valuable items in their cars when they are going to the beach. Contact Umhlali SAPS on 032-9479900.

Umhlali SAPS are looking for relatives or any one with information that may lead to finding the family of a man who was killed when he was hit by a car on Saturday afternoon, May 30.

The man was hit by a security company vehicle on the R102 at the Shakashead intersection. He was between the age of 30 to 35 years. His body was taken to the KwaDukuza mortuary. Contact Umhlali SAPS on 032-9479912 and ask for Detective constable Nomthandazo Zwane.
