Ballito man’s body returned home
Malawian and South African governments worked quickly to repatriate local man's body.

The body of Harry Wakeford was returned to South Africa on Thursday evening after he was shot and killed in Malawi in the early hours of Saturday morning, July 4.
Wakeford’s son-in-law, Barry Chapman said his body arrived from Malawi at King Shaka Airport on Thursday evening around 8.30pm and was transported to a private facility in Stanger.
“The repatriation process happened really fast and I must commend the Malawian and South African local governments for going out of their way to get him back to us as soon as possible,” said Chapman.
“We are very grateful for my brother Warwick who stayed in Malawi and helped with all of the arrangements.”
Chapman said the memorial will take place next week Friday, July 17 in Montclair.
