Spending school holidays in church

Church hosts holiday club to keep children off the streets.

Christ Church Shayamoya hosted a holiday club for the school pupils in Nkobongo and Shayamoya from July 6 to July 10.

Pastor Sbonelo Ngcobo said they felt there is a need to do something as a church to keep the children of the township away from the streets during their schools holidays.

“Every day we had about 200 children who came to the club and we thought them about Jesus and we had games for them,” said Ngcobo.

Gift Mthembu(10) said he enjoyed the holiday club and he learn’t that he must get permission from his parent to leave the house and ensure that he does inform them where he is going.

“We were thought a lot about Jesus and we were told not to make fun out of poor people and always help one another when there is a need to do so,” said Mthembu.

Pasto Ngcobo thanked his church members and Christ Church North Coast for donating food for the children and Principal of Dinuphozo and Shakaskraal SA Primary for letting him spread the word of attending the club in their schools.
