Attempted break-in stopped in Zinkwazi

Daytime robbery seems to be on the rise.

An intruder was stopped in his tracks on Wednesday evening when Alpha Security foiled an attempted break-in at 23 Magai Drive in Zinkwazi.

Alpha Security area manager, Rex Hunt, said they drove to the house when the alarm was triggered.

“Someone tampered with one of the outside beams, which set off the alarm, but we did not see anyone. The alarm went off a second time. This time the intruder was spotted and he fired at us,” said Hunt.

He said the intruder ran away and was not able to gain entry.

Hunt warned that a lot of daytime robbery by vehicle is happening on the Dolphin Coast.

“We have set up cones at the entrance of Westbrook and now control all the incoming vehicles.”

They hope to implement this system in Zinkwazi as well.
