Taxi passenger charged with attempted murder
The taxi passenger allegedly disturbed a taxi driver, causing an accident on the N2 on Sunday in which nine people were injured.
Umhlali SAPS attended the following crimes last weekend.
A taxi passenger was arrested and charged with attempted murder, after he allegedly disturbed a taxi driver causing an accident on the N2, between Shaka’s Head and Ballito, on Sunday. Nine people were injured and taken to Stanger Hospital. A woman was held up at knife point on Sheffield Main Road on Friday. Her cellphone, money and bank cards were taken.
A Toyota Yaris was stolen at Clark Bay on Saturday.
A house was broken into on Warren Road, Salt Rock on Sunday. Items valued at R87 000 were stolen.
An Nkobongo resident was attacked and stabbed in the head on Sunday.
Umhlali SAPS urge residents and holidaymakers not to leave valuable items in their cars when they are going out the beach. They also urge residents to report crimes against women and children and human trafficking.
Services offered by our local SAPS include: name and identity clearance for R47, police clearance for R96, copies of collision report for 60c per page, copies of post mortem results for R30 and incident report copies for 40c per page. Residents are urged to bring the correct amount as only cash will be accepted.
